Holidays to Maldives

Strewn across the Indian Ocean, the Maldives offer something really special, where you will find peace and quiet and some of the world's finest white sand beaches. Only 203 of over 1000 islands are inhabited, most with a single hotel featuring simple bungalow style accommodation. Some islands may be far too quiet, small and remote for some, but sheer paradise for others. 

The resort hotels offer international cuisine and a variety of local seafood. Some of the resorts have themed nights with curry and oriental buffets. There is a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink available at the resorts and the water in the resort areas is generally safe to drink. Why not try the local cocktail The Maldive Lady. Although alcoholic drinks are available on resort islands, no alcohol can be taken into the Maldives.

The Maldives offer one of the best diving locations in the world. There are a variety of diving and snorkelling opportunities with each resort having a dive school and a range of courses, from beginners to PADI certification. Dive sites include Mushimasmingili (Shark) Thila (North Ari Atoll), Kuda Rah Thila (Broken Rock) (South Ari Atoll), Banana Reef (North Malé Atoll) and Guraidhoo Corner (South Malé Atoll). Other popular watersports are windsurfing, sailing and big game fishing. Many resorts also offer boat trips and island hopping tours.

The Maldives offer one of the best diving locations in the world, with abundant marine and coral life in warm clear waters. There are a variety of diving opportunities available, both inside the reefs which surround the islands, in the channels between the islands and on the edge of the atolls facing the ocean.
